Design Engineers,CAD Technicians – New Job Opportunity
Do you work in within the materials handling industry, or are you interested in starting a career in engineering design?
With nearly 100 years as a leading manufacturer, primarily in the materials handling sector, we are actively searching for, and look forward to welcoming, new members to our team.
We are currently looking to hire experienced and/or trainee Design Engineers / Draughts people / CAD Technicians to join the business on a permanent basis. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding in the use of 3D CAD software as a minimum, with a good mechanical/manufacturing engineering understanding. Experience with Autodesk Inventor being advantageous, although not essential.
Typical duties to include:
- Using Inventor / AutoCAD to produce accurate engineering drawings for manufacture / production,
- Working with internal and external teams to provide engineering design support for sales, manufacture and installation,
- Designing & detailing fabrications for manufacture, assembly and installation. (e.g. conveyor chains, sprockets, sheet metal fabrications),
- Possible opportunity to visit sites to collect data for drawing production.
Requirements:
- Experience of using 3D CAD software,
- General knowledge of mechanical handling/ engineering principles,
- Understanding of design for manufacture,
- Metallurgical understanding covering materials and heat treatments,
- Ability to reverse engineer customer samples and/ or data collected from customer sites,
- Experience of using calibrated measuring instruments such as vernier caliper, micrometers etc,
- A background or experience in the materials handling industry is preferable but not essential.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic with a willingness to learn and develop their own knowledge and skills to become a valued member of the business.
