New press feed conveyor is a “fantastic” sucess so says Graham Porter of Je Porter Ltd
John King have recently supplied a complete press feed conveyor to J E Porter Ltd to replace the existing unreliable unit. The original machine suffered from corrosion and unreliable chain design giving poor and inconsistent feed to the pellet mill.
John Kings were asked to re design the conveyor manufactured entirely in stainless steel.
The main casings plus head and tail sections are all fabricated from 3mm stainless steel with up rated 60mm diameter head and tail shafts.
The conveyors original unreliable steel roller conveyor chain has been replaced with a twin strand assembly using a unique one piece stainless steel cast link with stainless steel pins and scraper bars.
The chain runs on 4 x 10 tooth profiled stainless steel sprockets. Chain runners and guides are from hardox 400 and designed so they can be easily replaced when worn.
This project was designed engineered and built entirely form John Kings HQ Sherburn in Elmet works, Leeds.
Due to the success of this first machine Graham Porter had no hesitation ordering a second identical unit to feed no 2 palletising mill which will be delivered in March 2015.
